Chan Layson began their work experience in 2005 as a Senior Government Services Specialist at Middle Georgia Regional Commission. In 2012, they were promoted to Director of Business Development at Georgia Small Business Lender, where they originated, underwrote, and serviced SBA 504 loans. In 2014, they joined Century Bank and Trust as a Vice President- Commercial Lender, responsible for managing commercial loans. Currently, Chan holds the position of Vice President- Commercial Relationship Manager at BankSouth, a role they have held since 2019. Overall, their work experience includes responsibilities in commercial lending, government services, and business development.
Chan Layson has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Political Science and Government from the University of West Georgia, which was obtained from 1999 to 2003. Later, in 2004 to 2005, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Administration from Georgia College & State University. In 2015 to 2017, Chan attended UGA Banking School (GBA) to further their knowledge in banking. Lastly, from 2018 to 2021, they attended the Graduate School of Banking at LSU, focusing on the Graduate School of Banking field of study.
