Pedro Garcia

Pedro Garcia has a strong background in technology infrastructure and operations. Pedro began their career at UAMC in 1996, where they held positions as a Senior Network Administrator and later as the Platforms/Server Manager. In these roles, they provided strategic vision and operational direction, managing a team of IT professionals and implementing new processes and technology to support the company's growth.

In 2006, Pedro joined BankUnited as the AVP Network Team Lead. In this role, they successfully led a team of 9 IT systems and network professionals, navigating through various challenges and changes in management. Pedro continued to advance within the company, serving as the VP - Network Infrastructure Manager from 2016 to 2021. In this position, Pedro led three functional areas within IT and played a key role in driving efficiencies and improved processes across the organization. Most recently, Pedro served as the SVP Director of Technology Infrastructure and Operations at BankUnited, where they led and managed five functional areas and over 35 reports. Pedro worked closely with the CIO and CTO to deliver solutions and operations centered around a product management mindset, further enhancing the company's cloud technology presence using AWS and Azure.

Pedro Garcia obtained a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Florida International University - College of Business, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. In addition to their degree, Pedro has acquired several certifications throughout their career. These include the Certified Professional Leader of Business Relationships from PeopleTek Coaching, obtained in October 2023, the Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft, obtained in November 2019, the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance, obtained in March 2019, and the Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS), obtained in February 2020.
