Kathryn Gardner has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering and legal fields. Kathryn began their career in 2006 as an Engineering Intern at ECSI, where they worked with programs such as AutoCad and applications such as SurvCADD to help with mining permit applications and other projects. In 2010, they were an Engineering Intern at The Mosaic Company, where they worked with phosphate beneficiation, primarily sampling and improving flotation processes as well as working with cyclones. Kathryn then interned at Newmont Corporation in 2011 and 2013, where they worked as an Underground Mine Engineer III and a Ventilation Engineer. In 2019, they were a Summer Associate at Baker Botts, a Product Manager, Legal Counsel, Chief Of Staff, and MBA Intern at Banyan Infrastructure.

Kathryn Gardner received a BS in Mining Engineering from the University of Kentucky College of Engineering. Kathryn also obtained a Professional Engineering License in Mining from the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in January 2018. In July 2014, they obtained a Qualified Person certification in Fall Protection Design. From 2017 to 2020, they attended the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. From 2018 to 2020, they attended The Wharton School and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. In March 2021, they were admitted to the State Bar of California as an Attorney.
