Cindy Koppen

Cindy Koppen is the current Chief Nursing Officer & SVP, Clinical Solutions at BANYAN Medical Systems. Cindy has previously worked as the VP Cardiology & Oncology & Neurosciences at Tulane Health System from April 2014 to September 2016. Here, they led across 200 staff within cardiology, oncology, and neuroscience service lines. The oversight included capital improvement projects, performance management, quality control, regulatory compliance, strategy planning, and dashboard development. A value-added resource and leader, they conducted comprehensive reviews of programs and services to evaluate operating performance and the overall fit to the strategic vision, direction of the organization, customer/community issues and the future anticipated costs and/or loss of revenues to the program.

With a firm dedicated toward compliance and quality, they partnered on the needed plans and strategies to ensure continued Joint Commission accreditation. Cindy also promoted adoption of the principles and concepts of Patient/Family Centered Care across service lines within the health system.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:

 Boosted radiation oncology volume 200%, stroke services 10%, neurosurgery 200%, and neuroscience market share with 7 locations added.

 Partnered in completion of neuro-interventional suite and creation of EMS stroke protocols.

 Achieved Target Elite Plus Designation for the American Heart/Stroke Association – 1st in Louisiana.

 Earned ranking of 6 out of 14 divisions within HCA system for HCAHPS quality.

 Received FACT accreditation for bone marrow transplant with zero RFIs – accomplished after 2 failed attempts and over 140 RFIs corrected.

 Instrumental in redesignation of comprehensive stroke program – 2015 GWTG Platinum and AMI (2015).

 Praised with Healthcare Hero Award for outstanding contributions.

Cindy Koppen has a Master's degree in Nursing from Research College of Nursing, a Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Kansas Wesleyan University, and an Associate's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from American Commercial College-Odessa.

They are on a team with Matt Erickson - SVP, Operations, Maria Hagen - SVP, Customer Success, and Rikki Wardyn - SVP, Human Resources. Cindy Koppen reports to Tony Buda, CEO & Founder.
