Jason Bethke has an extensive work history in the water and wastewater industry. In 1997, they began their career as a Project Manager for Entranco. Jason then moved on to Carter & Burgess in 2002 as a Program Manager and Water and Wastewater Department Lead in Arizona. In 2005, they became an Engineering Manager for IWS and then President of Bethke Engineering in 2006. In 2007, they joined Global Water Resources as a Vice President, Director of Engineering, and Director of Engineering and Construction. In 2012, they became President of FATHOM (Global Water Management, LLC), where they developed and supported utilities. In 2020, they joined West Travis County Public Utility Agency as a Board Member and Olea Edge Analytics as Vice President of Strategic Accounts. Finally, in 2021, they became Chief Executive Officer of Permian Basin Water Resources and a Director Board of Directors for Banyan Water.

Jason Bethke received their B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1995. Jason then went on to earn their Masters of Engineering in Water, Wastewater and Recycled Water from Arizona State University in 1998. In 2000, they completed their Masters of Business Administration from the W. P. Carey School of Business - Arizona State University.
