Gabriel Cortes has extensive experience in ministry and education within the Baptist community, currently serving as the Hispanic Education Initiative Director at the Baptist General Convention of Texas since August 2008. Previously, Gabriel held various positions including Congreso Coordinator and Hispanic Ministries Strategist at the same organization. Prior to this, Gabriel worked as the Executive/Special Assistant to the President at Baptist University of the Américas and served as Associate Pastor at Southwayside Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX. Gabriel began a pastoral role at Templo Bautista Emanuel from 1996 to 2003. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Ministry from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity in Missions/Evangelism from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a degree in Airway Science Management from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.
