Raul Christiansen

Raul Christiansen is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in specialized turbomachinery projects across various industries, including aerospace, defense, energy, cryogenic, and oil and gas. Currently serving as Chief Engineer and Lead Project Engineer at Barber-Nichols since October 2021, Raul provides technical advice and mentorship while previously holding the position of Senior Project Engineer, focusing on customer-driven solutions and risk reduction strategies. Raul's earlier tenure at Barber-Nichols, from March 2006 to April 2017, included roles as Senior Engineer, Engineer II, and Engineer I, where responsibilities encompassed project management, design validation, and comprehensive engineering analyses. Prior experience as a Research Engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory involved magnetic and thermal finite element analysis in electric vehicle applications. Raul holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
