Wesley Steffen

Wesley Steffen is a seasoned Thermal/Structures Engineer II at Barber-Nichols since October 2021, with previous experience as a Structural Engineer II at Belcan from July 2017 to July 2019. At Belcan, Wesley served as a structural analyst for a helicopter engine's low-pressure compressor test rig, conducting static and vibratory stress analyses, and as the lead structural analyst/designer for an LCF test rig, where innovative design changes improved performance. Earlier experience includes a project engineering internship at CCC, managing a compressor system upgrade, and a student engineering internship with Veterans Affairs Iowa City, focusing on documentation quality control and logistical support. Wesley holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Iowa State University.
