Jean-Francois Astier

Global Head of Capital Markets at Barclays

Jean-Francois Astier is the current Global Head of Capital Markets at Barclays. Prior to this, they served as Managing Director - Head of Global Leveraged Finance from September 2012 to March 2017. From January 2010 to September 2012, they were Managing Director - Head of Leveraged Finance for the Americas. And from September 2008 to January 2010, they were Managing Director - Leveraged Finance, heading up the Technology, Real Estate and Gaming verticals.

Astier began their career at Lehman Brothers in January 1992, where they served as Managing Director until December 2008. Jean-Francois then went on to co-found Continuum Group Limited in February 2000, a venture capital firm. In June 2004, they left Continuum to join Barclays.

Jean-Francois Astier has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli.
