Stephen Thomson

Stephen Thomson has extensive experience in sustainability and environmental management across various sectors. As Head of Sustainability at Co-op from May 2021 to November 2024, Stephen led the Property Sustainability team, developing a comprehensive sustainability strategy and managing a portfolio of sustainability programs. Prior to this role, Stephen served as VP of Sustainability & Reputational Risk Compliance at Barclays, and from April 2017 to May 2021, held the position of Head of Air Quality and Head of Environment & Sustainability at Transport Scotland. Earlier experience includes serving as Environmental Manager at Laing O'Rourke from September 2003 to April 2010, where Stephen contributed to corporate responsibility strategies and implemented environmental management plans. Stephen's academic background includes a degree from The University of Glasgow, completed between 1994 and 2003.
