Jana Mader

Jana Mader is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies and the Humanities at Bard College, teaching interdisciplinary courses that delve into the connections between literature, art, and the environment. Mader serves as the Director of Academic Programs at the Hannah Arendt Center, fostering an academic community through various curricular initiatives and scholarly engagement. Prior roles include teaching German at The Juilliard School and the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where Mader focused on inclusive curricula and the diversification of German Studies. Jana Mader holds a PhD in German Studies and Comparative Literature, alongside a Master's degree in German Language and Literature, both from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
