Helen Kissler

VP, Publishing at Barefoot Books

Helen Kissler has over 20 years of experience in the publishing, media and education industries. Helen began their career in 1998 as an Editorial Intern at BBC Vegetarian Good Food Magazine and The Spark Magazine. In 1999, they took on the role of Public Relations Account Assistant at Herald Communications (acquired by Fleishman Hillard). Later that year, they joined Barefoot Books as a Publisher's Assistant / Foreign Rights Manager, where they developed the editorial office's first accounts payable tracking system and upgraded the central foreign rights customer database from Filemaker Pro to Access. In 2013, they returned to Barefoot Books as Group Business Manager, where they managed corporate special projects involving accounting, budget and P&L management, developed and drove a strategic plan based on revenue targets for international marketing initiatives (B2B and B2C), and analyzed revenue against prior year and target. In 2015, they became the Director of Advancement at the German International School Boston. In 2018, they rejoined Barefoot Books as VP, Publishing and Global Business Director.

Helen Kissler obtained a Bachelor's Degree in French and German from the University of Bristol. Helen also studied International Economics and Business at Université Paris 13.
