Samuel G. Ingalls is a Principal for Barich, Inc. with over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. Samuel recently retired as the Assistant Director of Aviation, Information Systems for Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS), serving the Clark County Department of Aviation (Department) for more than 30 years. He started his career as the Department’s Business Office Manager after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Business Administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, where he continues to serve on the University Business Industry Advisory Board. He is certified as an International Airport Professional (I.A.P.) by the International Civil Aviation Organization and Airports Council International (ACI), along with his certification by the American Association of Airport Executives as an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.). Samuel is a frequent user of the aviation system with a commercial multi-engine pilot’s rating.

During his tenure with the Department, Samuel led the efforts to implement many innovations, building a strategic and tactical knowledge of virtually all airport-based technology systems. He also played a leadership role in the industry with work on behalf of ACI, International Air Transport Association (IATA), and Airlines for America (A4A). Among his many achievements, Samuel built an extensive experience set in common use systems through 25 years of active common use implementation and innovation. He initially led LAS to become the only major hub airport in the US that is 100% common use, and he continued to drive improvement in the common use space. Samuel also worked to innovate the baggage handling and tracking side of the business, playing a key role in setting the standard for RFID chips in bag tags and successfully implementing that technology. In Wi-Fi technology, Samuel led the airport’s early adoption of complimentary Wi-Fi for the customers and operational Wi-Fi on the ramp and in the terminal. He further worked with the Transportation Network Companies (Uber and Lyft) and other technology providers to implement a geo-fenced system that helped manage these operations, which were new to the airport environment.
