Matthew Newman

Matthew Newman has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as Senior Director of Enterprise Risk at Barings, which they began in December 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Director and US Head of Organizational Risk, Enterprise Risk at Barings from May 2021 to November 2022. Prior to their time at Barings, Matthew worked at Guggenheim Partners as a Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk from April 2017 to May 2021, and as a Senior Associate in Risk Management for Fixed Income, Equities, and Alternatives from June 2015 to April 2017. Before that, Matthew worked at Lyxor Asset Management as an Analyst in Finance and Business Operations- Alternative Investments from October 2013 to May 2015. Matthew started their career at Societe Generale as an Analyst in Derivatives and Structured Products, Cross-Asset Solutions/Global Markets from September 2012 to October 2013. Prior to this, they worked at Bloomberg LP as a Student Ambassador for the Bloomberg Institute from January 2012 to May 2012. Matthew also held internship positions at Merrill Lynch in Wealth Management from September 2011 to December 2011, and at American Express in B2B Payments Go-to-Market Strategy, Global Commercial Card from May 2011 to August 2011.

Matthew Newman completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business from 2019 to 2021. Matthew also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics from the University of Arizona, graduating between 2008 and 2012.
