Matthias Gierse

Matthias Gierse has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Matthias is currently the Head of Academy at Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, where they are responsible for driving strategic development in the learning and development space. Prior to this, Matthias held various roles at BorgWarner Inc., including Corporate Sr. Manager Learning and Development, Asia and Europe, and Director Global Talent. Matthias also served as the Corporate Regional Manager Talent Acquisition & Development - Asia and Corporate Regional Manager HR, Europe at BorgWarner Inc. Before joining BorgWarner, Matthias worked at BorgWarner Transmission Systems as an HR Manager and HR Supervisor. Matthias started their career as a Consultant at German Career Service and RIFU GmbH - Institute for Leadership Development, where they focused on talent identification, soft skills training, and key account management.

Matthias Gierse's education history begins in 1990 when they attended the Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg. Matthias pursued a degree in Adult Education and Psychology, earning a Dipl. Pädagoge in 1996. Later, in 1993, they briefly attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree. Additionally, Matthias Gierse completed another program at the Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg, receiving a Diplom in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching.
