Ian Nicklin

Ian Nicklin has a diverse work experience starting from 2008. Ian began as a Violinist for Mannheim Steamroller in September 2008 and worked in that role until December 2012. In August 2008, they became an Administrative Assistant for the Bozeman Symphony Society, where they managed the box office and handled the Symphony's central patron and contact database. During the same time, they also served as Principal Violinist II for the Bozeman Symphony Society from September 2004 until April 2016.

From 2009 to November 2016, Ian worked at the Intermountain Opera as Concertmaster, Assistant Concertmaster, and Principal Violin II.

In 2012, they joined the Billings Symphony Society as a Box Office Assistant, and in the same year, they began working at the Great Falls Symphony Association as a Violinist I & II.

In 2014, Ian joined the Glacier Symphony Orchestra & Chorale as a Violinist I.

From November 2015 to May 2019, they worked as an IT Technician for Williams Plumbing/Williams Civil Construction, managing all aspects of IT/technology for one of the largest MEP/plumbing & civil contractors in the northwestern United States. Ian handled desktops, laptops, mobile devices, servers, network infrastructure, site-to-site VPNs, software, email, internal websites, and printers while providing customer support to end users.

In 2015, Ian founded Nicklin Systems Corporation and served as the President.

Currently, Ian is working as a Systems Administrator for Barnard Construction since May 2019. Ian is responsible for managing Barnard's IT infrastructure, including configuring, deploying, and maintaining servers, firewalls, VoIP systems, and client endpoints in a virtualized environment. Additionally, they manage the company's Nutanix DSF datacenter.

Ian Nicklin completed their education at Montana State University-Bozeman. From 2004 to 2007, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music. Following this, they obtained a CompTIA A+ IT Technician Designation from the same university in 2007-2008. In April 2008, they also obtained the certification of COMPTIA A+ Certified Professional IT Technician.
