Alyssa Layton

Alyssa Layton has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Alyssa is currently the Director of Corporate Communications at Barnhill Contracting Company, where they are responsible for designing and implementing strategic communication initiatives to enhance the company's visibility and understanding. Alyssa also acts as the brand ambassador and oversees production to ensure adherence to corporate standards.

Prior to joining Barnhill, Alyssa worked at the Harrison Family YMCA from 2013 to 2021. Alyssa held various positions, including Marketing and Development Director, Marketing Director, and Marketing Coordinator. In these roles, they were responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote the YMCA's programs and activities.

Before their time at the YMCA, Alyssa worked as a Marketing Specialist at Pathways To Life, Inc. in 2012. Alyssa also gained experience as a Marketing Intern at Joe Pecheles Automotive and as a Public Relations Intern at Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge in 2011.

Alyssa Layton began their education journey at Northern Nash High School, where they attended from 2004 to 2008. Following their high school graduation, they pursued higher education at East Carolina University. From 2008 to 2012, Alyssa earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a focus on Public Relations. After a gap of a few years, in 2017, they enrolled at Pitt Community College to pursue a certification in Graphic Design, which they completed in 2018.
