Barretstown
Laura Mahon is a Hospital Outreach Specialist at Barretstown since March 2024. Previously, Laura worked as an Art Therapy Intern at Tracy's Kids and Foggy Bottom West End Village. Laura also has experience as a Camper Care in Wellness at Camps Airy & Louise. Laura holds a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from The George Washington University.
Barretstown
Barretstown offers free, specially designed camps and programmes for children and their families living with a serious illness – supported behind the scenes by 24 hour on site medical and nursing care. All of the children and families come to Barretstown free of charge. Everything, including accommodation, food and medical assistance are provided at no cost to the family. Barretstown is supported by donations and the fundraising efforts of corporate supporters, individuals and community groups. Barretstown is recognised as a centre of excellence in childhood cancer care and other serious illnesses. Children are referred to Barretstown based on their medical needs. Since we first opened our gates in 1994 we have brought the magic of Barretstown to over 85,000 campers. Childhood stops for children affected by serious illness.
