Jose Vargas

Jose Vargas is a Senior Project Engineer at Barrick Gold Corporation, specializing in mining projects and services since August 2021. Previous roles include Project Control Engineer for a resettlement project, with responsibilities in strategic planning, compensation frameworks, land acquisition strategies, project schedule and budget design, and risk management. Prior to Barrick Gold, Jose served as Regional Coordinator Inspector for the Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones and Head of the Department of Norms Application. Experience also includes logistic planning for Grupo Therrestra's Bahia Principe Hotel construction and leadership in the College Assistant Migrant Program at Western Michigan University. Educational credentials include two Master's degrees in Project Management from Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana and Universidad Europea del Atlántico, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Western Michigan University.
