Lokesh Makam

Lokesh Makam has been working in the pharmaceutical industry since 2000. Lokesh began their career at The Himalaya Drug Company as an Executive in R&D, where they were responsible for analytical method development and accelerated stability studies for raw materials and finished products. In 2003, they moved to CNI as a Senior Executive in Contract Manufacturing. In 2005, they joined Dabur Pharma Ltd as an Assistant Manager in Contract Manufacturing & Outsourcing, where they were in charge of outsourcing activities for 23 manufacturing locations. In 2007, they took on the role of Manager in Contract Manufacturing & Outsourcing at Biovel Life Sciences, where they were responsible for contract manufacturing of injectables in pre-filled syringes and vials, as well as outsourcing of hormonal injections, tablets, capsules, and syrups. In 2009, they were appointed Senior Manager in Contract Manufacturing & Outsourcing at Hovid Life Science Pvt Ltd. Finally, in 2011, they became MD & CEO of Barrix Agro Sciences Private Limited.

Lokesh Makam obtained a Diploma in Pharmacy from P.E.S College between 1992 and 1995. Lokesh then received a Bachelor in Pharmacy from Oxford College between 1995 and 1999. In September 1996, they obtained a Pharmacist certification from the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council in India. Finally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Pharmaceutical Management from an MBA program in 2006-2007.
