Daniel Townsend

Daniel Townsend has extensive experience in information technology, currently serving as a Technical Resource for Barrow County Schools since February 2022, where responsibilities include providing technical oversight and support for the district's IT needs. Prior to this role, Daniel held various senior leadership positions at McKesson Corp, including Senior Director of Systems Engineering and Director of Systems Engineering, leading teams in the implementation and maintenance of critical computer systems for the pharmacy network. Daniel has a solid background in managing data center systems, particularly in Windows and Unix environments, with experience spanning over two decades across several organizations, including NDCHealth, Per-Se Technologies, and RelayHealth. Daniel's early career included service in the US Navy as a Petty Officer 3rd Class, specializing in communications engineering. Educational credentials include programs from Georgia Tech, The Wharton School, and Gwinnett Technical College.
