Chief Administrative Officer Of Student Affairs & Title IX Coordinator at Barrow County Schools

Dr. Al Darby is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in administrative roles within Barrow County Schools since January 2020, serving as the Chief Administrative Officer of Student Affairs and Title IX Coordinator, as well as Chief Administrative Officer for Athletics and Student Activities. Prior to this position, Dr. Darby was the Principal at Winder-Barrow High School from February 2004 to January 2020 and held roles as Assistant Principal at Social Circle City Schools and Teacher/Head Boys Basketball Coach. Dr. Darby began a career in education as a Teacher and Assistant Football and Basketball Coach in the Jackson County School District from 1998 to 2001. Dr. Darby holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Nova Southeastern University, along with a Specialist degree from the same institution, a Master's degree from Clark Atlanta University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia Mary Frances Early College of Education.
