Marc McLawhorn

Marc McLawhorn serves as the Department Chair of Anesthesiology at the Barrow Neurological Institute, recognized as the world's largest dedicated neurosurgical center, since March 2022. In addition, Marc is the Critical Care Air Transport Team Director with the U.S. Air Force Reserve since October 2017. Previous positions include Staff Anesthesiologist specializing in Neuroanesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Neuroanesthesiologist at Valley Anesthesiology Consultants. Marc completed a Neuroanesthesia Fellowship at Duke University Health System and has extensive training as a Resident Physician at the Medical University of South Carolina. Educational qualifications include an MD and an MS from the Medical University of South Carolina and a BS in Biology and Philosophy from Wofford College.
