Yoshie Umemura currently serves as Associate Professor and Chief of Neuro-Oncology at Barrow Neurological Institute and Chief Medical Officer at Ivy Brain Tumor Center, both positions starting in May 2023. Since October 2017, Yoshie has held the role of Adjunct Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan. In addition, from November 2020 to March 2023, Yoshie was Director of the Neuro-Oncology Division & Clinic, Co-Chair of the Neuro-Oncology Clinical Research Team, and Co-Director of the Michigan Medicine Multidisciplinary Brain Tumor Clinic. Previous experience includes a Clinical Fellowship in Neuro-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and a Neurology Residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. Yoshie began medical training with a Medical Internship at Brookdale University Hospital and holds a Master of Science in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, a Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Dance from the University of California, Riverside.
