John Yen

John Yen has extensive experience in fare collection engineering, currently serving as the Manager of Fare Collection Engineering within the Systems Engineering group at BART since January 1999. Key responsibilities include supervising a team of engineers, managing software and system development projects, and participating in the design and implementation of the next generation Clipper smart card fare collection system. Previously, John held the title of Principal Computer Systems Engineer, focusing on automated processes for reporting system performance and financial reconciliation. Prior to BART, John worked at CHEM USA Corporation as a Product Manager, overseeing product assurance, quality control, and information technology initiatives. John earned a BS in Electrical Engineering Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MS in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix.
