Kimberly Koempel is a retired professional with extensive experience in urban planning, including her current role as a Principal Planner at BART since 2017. Previously, Kimberly worked as an Associate Transportation Planner for the Alameda County Transportation Commission from 2016 to 2017, and as a Senior Planner for the Metro Transit Southwest LRT Project Office from 2013 to 2016. Kimberly began their career at the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities as a Planner in Facilities Planning and Engineering from 2011 to 2013. Kimberly earned a Master of Science in City/Urban, Community, and Regional Planning from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society from UCSB.
