Richard Fuentes

Richard Fuentes is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public and private sector roles, currently serving as a Committee Member for the BART Investment Plans Committee, overseeing $1.7 billion in retirement assets. In the BART Executive Office of Performance and Budget, Richard is responsible for advocacy strategies to secure project funding and has served as a liaison to elected officials regarding transit issues in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Real Estate Investor, Richard focuses on strategic property acquisitions across multiple markets, and as Cofounder and CFO of The Port Bar, Richard has been recognized with the "LGBTQ Venue of the Year" award. Richard has also held leadership roles with AFSCME Local 3993, advocating for workers' rights, and has a proven track record in legislative and fundraising positions in various organizations, including the City of Oakland and the Mission Economic Development Agency. Richard holds a BA in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles.
