Orthopaedic Surgeon at Barwon Health

Richard Page serves as the President of the Shoulder Elbow Society of Australia (SESA) since October 2024 and is a Professor of Orthopaedics at Deakin University, holding the SJOG and Barwon Health Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery since 2007. Richard also coordinates the Musculoskeletal teaching programme for the School of Medicine and is a member of the Academic Advisory Board at Deakin University. As the Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at University Hospital Geelong and a longstanding Executive member of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia since 2008, Richard has significantly contributed to both clinical practice and academic research. In addition, Richard has developed a dedicated shoulder and upper limb surgical service for Western Victoria while representing orthopaedic interests within Barwon Health and to the Department of Health, Victoria. Previous roles include Chair of the Younger Fellows Committee for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne. Richard's educational background includes an FRACS in Orthopaedic Surgery and degrees in Medicine and Medical Science from the University of Tasmania.
