Alex Makeyev

Alex Makeyev is an experienced managing editor at BAS Holdings, LLC, overseeing a team of over 15 writers in delivering high-quality independent journalism to a substantial audience. As an independent contractor since 2013, Alex has crafted creative copy for a diverse array of organizations, including notable brands such as Eventbrite and the San Francisco Symphony. Previous roles include Communications Director for a San Francisco mayoral campaign and founder of Tour Curation LLC, a platform for artists and curators. Alex's background also encompasses product management and analytical roles in various tech startups, as well as international project management and interpretation for a non-profit agency in Colombia. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Cultural Anthropology from UC Santa Barbara and has completed additional studies in English language teaching and cultural studies across multiple institutions.
