Amit Kawalia

Amit Kawalia, PhD, is the Global Scientific Discipline Lead for Data Science at BASF, where they manage a team of data scientists and engineers to drive digitalization initiatives. Previously, Amit served as a Bioinformatics Scientist at the University Hospital Cologne, focusing on Next Generation Sequencing data analysis and project management for Alzheimer's disease studies. Their experience includes roles as a Research Associate and an intern at the Cologne Center for Genomics, where they contributed to NGS data workflows and evaluations of sequencing technologies. Amit holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioinformatics from the University of Cologne and a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology from the University of Rajasthan.
