Arn van Hemelen

Arn Van Hemelen is an Automation Specialist at BASF since May 2025, with previous experience as a Junior Project Engineer at Process Automation Solutions and as a Plasma Chemistry Research Intern at Plasmant. During a recent role at Plasmant, Van Hemelen focused on surface modeling of (post) CH4 NPD plasma for heterogeneous catalysis. Additional experience includes a brief position in business development at TRANSMARE CHEMIE NV and an internship at BIG as part of a Master's program in Chemistry. Previous research includes contributions to CO2 conversion in Microwave Plasma for potential applications on Mars. Van Hemelen holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Antwerp, along with a Bachelor’s degree in the same field, and a secondary school education focused on sciences and mathematics.
