Ashraf Abufaris

Ashraf Abufaris is an accomplished professional in the gas treatment industry, currently serving as the Head of Gas Treatment for the Middle East and Central Asia at BASF since August 2018. In this role, Ashraf provides technical and commercial support to a diverse range of gas treatment customers, including those in LNG, natural gas, and refinery sectors. Prior to his tenure at BASF, Ashraf worked at Petrofac from June 2008 to July 2018, where responsibilities included serving as the Senior Process Project Lead for the Upper Zakum 750 project, valued at US$ 3.7 billion, and contributing as a Process Engineer on significant oil and gas projects. Ashraf holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management from the American University of Sharjah, obtained between 2015 and 2017, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the same institution, earned from 2004 to 2008.
