Barbara Chaves

Barbara Chaves is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the agricultural sector, particularly in hybrid wheat and field crop seeds. At BASF, from February 2019 to June 2022, Barbara held the titles of Hybrid Wheat Program Director and Head of Marketing Field Crops Seeds EMEA, where a new business development and R&D program was established with clear strategic priorities. Prior to BASF, Barbara worked at Bayer Crop Science for over a decade in various roles, including Senior Trait Development Manager, where a multi-crop focus in R&D encompassed wheat, canola, soy, and cotton. Additionally, experience includes managing official variety trials at ILVO and conducting doctoral research at Ghent University, where a PhD in Applied Biological Sciences was obtained.
