Dan Smelker-Cheeseman

Dan Smelker-Cheeseman, Ed.D, M.Ed, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in training, development, and continuous improvement across various industries. Currently serving as the NA Apprenticeship Program Manager at BASF since August 2012, Dan has successfully designed and implemented apprenticeship programs to enhance the talent pipeline for a skilled technician workforce. Previous roles include Site Continuous Improvement Manager and Learning & Development/LEAN Coordinator, where Dan developed world-class training programs and standardized training processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. An educator with a Doctorate in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University, Dan’s academic background also includes a Master’s in Adult Education and Training and a Bachelor’s in Technical Management, supplemented by multiple certifications in safety and training.
