Fatma Zaki possesses extensive experience in plant physiology and agronomy. From January 2000 to January 2007, Fatma served as a Teaching Assistant in the Botany Department at Ain Shams University, focusing on salt tolerance in maize as part of a master's project. Subsequently, Fatma completed a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology at the University of Groningen from 2007 to 2011, conducting advanced research on the effects of salinity stress on maize using the MIFE system. Fatma's career at Syngenta began in August 2011 as a Development Scientist, advancing to Development Scientist Lead - Seeds from January 2015 to February 2020. Currently, Fatma holds the dual role of Head of Operations Technology and Head of Agronomy at BASF as of February 2025.
