Volker Wagner

Volker Wagner is an accomplished professional in the field of information security and management, currently serving as Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President of Security at BASF since February 2018. Wagner was previously the Chairman of the German Association for Security in Industry and Commerce (ASW) from March 2012 to May 2023 and held various senior leadership roles at Deutsche Telekom AG from January 1998 to January 2018, including Senior Vice President of Group Business Security and Head of Finance and Controlling at the Branch Office in Munich. Additionally, Wagner contributed as a Board Member to the German Association for Security in the Economy North Rhine Westphalia (VSW-NW) and the Subcommittee on Economic Protection of the Federation of the German Industry (BDI). Wagner's education includes an Executive Seminar from the Federal College for Security Studies, a Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute, and a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing, Finance, Communication, and Politics from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.
