William Neill

William Neill has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. William is currently the co-founder and CPO of Basket, a platform that helps users find the best prices and organize their online shopping. Prior to this, they co-founded Intent Technologies, where they worked on projects like KinderList and Basket, aiming to simplify and enhance the shopping experience.

Before that, Neill co-founded KinderList, a platform for discovering children's gifts and sharing gifting ideas. William curated the catalogue, including eco-friendly products and unique items from different retailers.

William also worked as a Senior Product Consultant at Lavaic Limited, where they assisted startups in refining their product ideas. As a co-founder of OneDeck, Neill developed a free online tool for companies to create 1-page pitches for investors.

Previously, they worked as a Product Designer and Venture Analyst at TMeffect, supporting early-stage companies, and co-founded the Crowd Funding Institute of Australia, advocating for crowdfunding reforms and industry cohesion.

At Blaze Research, Neill served as a Research Director, specializing in qualitative research for industries such as FMCG, telecommunications, and energy. Throughout their career, Neill has demonstrated a passion for innovation, product development, and simplifying complex processes.

William Neill obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Film & Theatre from Victoria University of Wellington from 2004 to 2007. During the same period, they also completed a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Marketing from the same university. In 2008, they pursued their Masters thesis at Victoria University of Wellington, which was later converted into a PhD in Marketing. William continued their Ph.D. studies from 2009 to 2013 at UNSW. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in Google Analytics & Website Optimizer from Loves Data in November 2011.
