John Epifanio is retired from the Illinois Natural History Survey where he was a Principal Scientist (Fisheries Conservation) from 2001 to 2018. His work has focused on biodiversity conservation and management of inland sport fish, with an emphasis on bass, sunfish, trout, and shad. Epifanio has also served in national fisheries program leadership positions with the USDA Forest Service and the US Geological Survey. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon.
