Talib Lawal is an experienced professional with a strong background in educational initiatives and strategy. Currently serving as a Talent Consultant for Prospect Schools and a First Gen Force Member at projectBASTA, Talib previously held multiple roles at Achievement First, including Team Academic Operations and Strategy Coordinator and Team Chief of Staff Coordinator, where key achievements included managing a significant book scholarship initiative and enhancing internal communication strategies. Talib's earlier experiences include leadership roles in academic committees at F&M Diplomatic Congress, writing about education reform for Medium.com, and various internships focused on policy, education, and health. Basta is a nonprofit closing the employment gap for first-generation students. Our model builds a bridge between employers and an untapped talent pipeline. We do this through rigorous career-prep programs that directly support students in securing great jobs and internships. We also form strategic partnerships with the larger higher-ed and nonprofit ecosystem to scale students’ access to high-quality career prep and with employers to build a talent pipeline for all their hiring needs.
