Alireza Hekmati

Alireza Hekmati is an accomplished professional in mechatronics, robotics, and automation engineering, currently serving as R&D Software Team Lead at Bastian Solutions since March 2024. Alireza has a diverse background, having held significant roles such as Shareholder/Partner at The Volatile Project Ltd. and Robotics Software Engineering Manager at Diligent Robotics, where responsibilities included managing teams focused on robot autonomy and application. Previous experience includes Head of Software Development at Advanced Intelligent Systems Inc., leading projects in autonomous mobile robots, and serving as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Simon Fraser University. Alireza holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Simon Fraser University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Iran University of Science & Technology.
