David Skoog has worked in various software engineering roles since 2001. David began as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the College of Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology. David then worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the School of Mathematics at Georgia Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2004. After that, they worked as a Software Engineer at Scientific Games from 2004 to 2007. David then moved to Damballa, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer from 2007 to 2009. From 2009 to 2015, they worked as a Research Scientist II at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, where they were a member of the Cyber Technology and Information Security Laboratory (CTISL) and the Information and Communications Laboratory (ICL). From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Lancope, where they developed native Netflow capture and manipulation engines as well as Next Gen engines written in Scala and deployed with a combination of dedicated appliance platforms and Docker. In 2016, they moved to Cisco, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer until 2019. David then worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Evident ID until 2020. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at Bastille.
David Skoog obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Discrete Mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003. David then went on to obtain their Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institution in 2014. In 2020, they earned a certification in Master Cloud-Native Infrastructure with Kubernetes from LinkedIn.
