Jim Jacobsen has been a software engineer for the past decade, beginning with WMS Gaming in 2009 as a Senior Engineering Consultant. Jim then worked as a Senior Engineer for Garrett Technologies/PDT in 2010 and an Engineering Contractor for Natus Medical in 2011. From 2011 to 2016, Jim held various roles at PDT/Telefonix, including Software Engineer and Software/Hardware Engineer at WIT.com in 2018. In 2017, they were a Principal Software Engineer at Endotronix, Inc. and a Senior Software Engineer at RightHand Technologies in 2016. In 2019, Jim was a Software Engineering Contractor at Midmark Corporation and, most recently, an Embedded Software Engineer at Garrett Technologies Inc. in 2020. In 2021, they began working as a Software Engineer at Bastille.

Jim Jacobsen attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a degree in Mathematics with a field of study in Computer Science. In 2018, they obtained a CFI certification from the Federal Aviation Administration, and in 2019 they obtained a Light Sport Repairman certification from the same institution.
