Roy Thompson has worked in the technology industry since 1999. Their first experience was as a User Experience Intern at VerticalOne. Following that, they worked as a Research Intern at Northrop Grumman and Pathfire. In 2003, they began working as a Digital Design Engineer (FPGA) at Argon ST, a subsidiary of Boeing. Roy held this position until 2015, when they joined Bastille as a Lead FPGA Engineer. At Bastille, they are responsible for high performance FPGA development, reverse engineering of wireless communications protocols and hardware, software defined radio implementation, and software development for real-time embedded digital signal processing systems.
Roy Thompson attended The Westminster Schools for high school, and then went on to Carnegie Mellon University, where they received a MS and BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with a minor in Computer Science.
