Avery Barrera

Avery Barrera is a seasoned professional in career and technical education with extensive experience in coordinating programs within various educational institutions. Currently serving as the CTE Coordinator at Bastrop Independent School District since July 2021, Avery previously held similar roles at Hays Consolidated Independent School District and Texas Education Agency, where responsibilities included statewide coordination of career and technical education initiatives. Prior to the educational sector, Avery worked in corporate recruitment at Bank of America, initially as a Corporate Recruiter for over a decade and briefly as a Contract Recruiter. Avery holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Texas State University, earned between 1998 and 2001.
