Alberto Sunderland

Alberto Sunderland is currently the Associate Director at Bates Smart and previously worked as the Project Architect at HDR | Rice Daubney from February 2013 to October 2016. Alberto has experience working across a variety of large scale projects in the commercial, retail, mixed-use, health, research, and defence sectors totalling over $3.5 billion. Alberto's design process allows him to bring together art, technology, sustainability, and commerce to create the best architectural outcome for each project.

Alberto Sunderland's educational career began with a Bachelor of Architecture from UNSW. Alberto followed this with a Business of Interior Design degree from Steelcase University and then a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México. Alberto completed their education with a High School diploma from Whitefriars College.

Alberto Sunderland reports to Philip Vivian, Managing Director. They work with Bobby Wei - Associate Director, Alex Dircks - Associate Director, and Linda Mason - Associate Director.
