Shailesh Bathiya

He is a Chartered Accountant, commenced his professional practice in the year 1979, and has over 35 years of extensive experience in the fields of auditing & accounting, capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, corporate law, project finance, taxation, and management consultancy. Has been a member and treasurer of the Western India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Shailesh is a SEBI registered Category-IV merchant banker during the period from 1993 to 1999 and has also been ranked as India’s No. 1 advisor to public issues. Has been a co-opted member of the Committee on Financial Markets and Investors’ Protection of the central council of ICAI for the year 2003-04 and was also coopted as a member of the committee on Corporate Governance of the central council of ICAI for the year 2008-09.

He was past president of CA’s Association, Mumbai, and a contributor to the ICAI Guidance Note on Certification of Corporate Governance. Has been invited to speak on subjects of professional interest at various forums like WIRC, the central council of ICAI, BCAS, Chamber of Tax Consultants, Rotary Club, Corporates, etc. Has contributed to thought-leadership in more than 150 articles in journals and newspapers on taxation, corporate restructuring, company law matters, and IPOs.

He has been an Independent Board Member on many large listed companies over the years.
