Michal Simovitch Etkes

Michal Simovitch Etkes is a seasoned expert in microbial genomics with extensive experience across multiple roles. Currently serving as a Senior Microbial Genomics Expert at ADOR Diagnostics since May 2022, Michal previously held the position of Head of MicroBoost AI at Evogene from October 2020 to December 2021 and worked as a Scientific Consultant from October 2017 to October 2020. Michal's work at Evogene included the discovery of novel candidate genes for developing insect-resistant plants and advancing computational analysis for insect control gene discovery. Additional roles included serving as Director of International Programs at The Davidson Institute of Science Education, Scientific Advisor at the Foreign Trade Administration of the Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, and postdoctoral positions at Bar Ilan University and Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Michal holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and a B.Sc. in Life Sciences, both from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
