Serina Blackwell

Serina Blackwell has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Serina most recently worked as the Director of Revenue Cycle Innovation at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, where they focused on improving the financial patient experience and productivity of revenue cycle departments through the implementation of new technologies and process improvements. Prior to this, they held positions at Magee General Hospital as Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Revenue Cycle, responsible for maximizing revenues for the hospital. Serina also worked at the University of Mississippi Medical Center as Associate Director of Revenue Cycle/HIM and Manager of Business Operations. Earlier in their career, Serina served as Manager of Client Services and Senior Billing Clerk at Forman Perry Watkins Krutz & Tardy, and as a Teacher at Pine Hills Academy. Serina'swork experience demonstrates their expertise in revenue cycle management, compliance, vendor selection, and process improvement.

Serina Blackwell earned a Master's degree in Health Informatics and Information Management (MHIIM) from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, completing their studies between 2012 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Mississippi State University, which they completed from 1995 to 1999. In 2015, they also obtained the RHIA certification.
