Michael Shurtliff is a seasoned electrical and systems engineer with extensive experience in unmanned aerial systems and electromechanical hardware. As a Senior Electrical and Systems Engineer at the Idaho National Laboratory since June 2017, Michael serves as the principal researcher and project manager for various Unmanned Aerial Vehicle initiatives. Concurrently, since April 2009, Michael has worked as an Electrical Engineer for the US Army-NSRDEC, overseeing the technical and contract aspects of next-generation autonomously guided cargo airdrop systems. Previous roles include Electrical Engineer and Project Engineer at Wamore from April 2006 to April 2009, where responsibilities included managing and testing hardware and software prototypes for airdrop processes. Michael holds a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Idaho, along with an associate degree from Brigham Young University - Idaho.
