Regulatory Development Engineer For Advanced Reactors at Idaho National Laboratory

Scott Ferrara serves as the National Technical Director for the DOE Regulatory Development Program at Battelle Energy Alliance LLC, a position held since July 2024, while also acting as the Division Director for Nuclear Safety and Regulatory Research. Prior to this role, Scott Ferrara worked as a Regulatory Development Engineer for Advanced Reactors at Idaho National Laboratory from February 2021. From February 2019 to February 2021, Scott Ferrara held the title of Lead Nuclear Safety Inspector at Battelle Energy Alliance. Experience at the United States Department of Energy includes positions as Facility Director for NRC Programs and Facility Representative, among others. Scott Ferrara's career also encompasses roles at Battelle Energy Alliance as a Reactor Operator and Shift Supervisor, as well as experience as a Chemical Technician at Los Alamos National Laboratory and as a Navy Nuclear Power Plant Operator in the US Navy. Scott Ferrara earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Thomas Edison State University between 1997 and 2004.
